Main Street Chillicothe oversees a Façade Renovation Program that has become widely sought out. Under this matching grants program, 50% is paid for by
Chillicothe Development Corporation and 50% the property owner. Maximum amount that Main Street pays is $5,000. The applicant must meet guidelines of (a) being either a Gaslight, Signal Fire, or Torch Light
member of Main Street and (b) the building must be located within the Main Street Chillicothe downtown district. New and existing property owners and business tenants are encouraged to apply.
At the Matching Grant Committee’s discretion, exceptions to any of the guidelines may be approved due to special conditions or situations.
PROJECTS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING
1) Exterior painting
2) Removing inappropriate or incompatible exterior finishes/materials
3) Restoring exterior finishes and materials
4) Recessing/reconfiguring of existing doors and entrances
5) Repairing or replacing existing storefront window systems
6) Signs (new, repairing, replacing and removing)
7) Exterior building and sign lighting, display area lighting
8) Awnings; new, repairs or replacement of existing
